About The Position

Thrive Support Services, Inc. is hiring Caregivers / Personal Attendants to provide compassionate care and assistance to adults with developmental disabilities. The role supports clients in daily living activities and helps empower them to foster independence in their own homes and communities. Positions are available full-time and part-time in Berkeley, California, with immediate client needs for candidates ready to work as soon as possible. Pay is $19.00–$24.00 per hour. Thrive Support Services was founded in 2007 to help adults with developmental disabilities thrive in their own homes and chosen communities. The organization serves clients throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

Requirements

At least one year of experience working as a caregiver or in-home aide; experience with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
High level of accountability and dependability.
Ability to provide hands-on care and support, including bathing, dressing, changing briefs, and assisting with medication.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Valid California driver's license.
Access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to pass DOJ fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
Ability to obtain a TB test result.
Valid auto insurance with $100,000–$300,000 bodily injury liability coverage.

Responsibilities

Support clients with daily living activities, including dressing and grooming.
Plan and prepare meals.
Administer or assist with medication.
