About The Position

A First Name Basis (AFNB) is hiring caregivers to provide in-home support to seniors and individuals with disabilities in Shreveport, Bossier City, Haughton, Keithville, and Benton. The role includes personal care, companionship, household assistance, meal preparation, medication reminders, health monitoring, and transportation to appointments, errands, and scheduled activities. Caregivers travel to client homes and work independently while following care instructions, documenting services, maintaining a safe environment, and completing required training. The schedule is described as afternoons, full-time or part-time, weekdays and weekends. Compensation is $10.50 per hour, with mileage reimbursement if applicable.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid ID and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel to client homes.
Current and valid state driver's license.
Current and valid vehicle registration.
Current and valid vehicle insurance.
Ability to pass pre-employment background, drug, and motor vehicle record screenings.
Willingness to complete competency and skills assessments.
Ability to work independently in home settings.
Willingness to complete background screening and all onboarding requirements.
Compassion, patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude when working with vulnerable populations.

Nice To Haves

Active Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care support, including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation, and assist with feeding as needed.
Provide medication reminders and accompany clients to appointments.
Monitor and report changes in clients’ health and well-being.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly client environment.
Ensure proper use of safety equipment.
Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards.
Travel reliably to patient homes and assigned visits across the service area.
Transport clients to and from appointments, errands, and other scheduled activities using a personal vehicle.
Ensure client safety during transport, including proper seatbelt use and assistance entering and exiting the vehicle.
Complete required in-service training upon hire and annually.
Follow written care instructions and document services provided.
