About The Position

New Horizons In-Home Care is seeking a Caregiver Mentor to support its mission of empowering well-being through comprehensive care and companionship. The role trains caregivers in basic caregiving skills, helps identify training needs, mentors new caregivers through onboarding, and supports caregivers in understanding care plans and ISPs. The Caregiver Mentor is also required to work as a Caregiver and ensure that caregivers providing services meet OAR qualifications. Weekend availability is required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of caregiver experience with advanced skills or CNA certification.
• Teaching or training experience; experience teaching basic caregiving skills is preferred.
• Computer proficiency in multiple software programs, including Google Suites and Microsoft Office; scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, including effective time management, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while determining priorities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work well on a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
• Weekend availability.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification is preferred.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• Scheduling software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Train caregivers in basic and caregiver skills as needed.
• Identify and assess current and future caregiver training needs.
• Use a wide variety of training methods.
• Mentor new caregivers to ensure successful onboarding.
• Maintain an understanding of training trends, development, and best practices.
• Ensure that caregivers providing services meet OAR qualifications.
• Help caregivers understand care plans and ISPs.
• Work as a Caregiver.
