About The Position

Waters Edge Lodge is seeking a full-time Caregiver/Med Aide for the PM shift, which runs from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The regular full-time schedule is four days on and two days off; on-call/PRN work is also available. Pay is $20.30 per hour for PCA shifts and $24.30 per hour for medication shifts.

The role supports frail elderly residents with activities of daily living, administers medications, responds promptly to residents while protecting their privacy and dignity, monitors resident activity and functional status, and responds promptly to resident pull cords and alerts.

Waters Edge Lodge is located on the lagoon of Harbor Bay and has 100 apartments. Its community offers programs and activities intended to support residents’ independent and active lifestyles and social connections. The community is pet-friendly, and residents may keep animals in their private apartments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 12 months of experience or equivalent education in a healthcare environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to speak English clearly to elderly residents.
• Ability to work patiently with cognitively impaired individuals.
• Ability to lift 150 pounds.
• Current COVID-19 vaccination.
• Routine COVID testing.
• Physical examination.
• TB test.
• Fingerprint clearance from the FBI and Department of Justice.

Responsibilities

• Assist frail elderly residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, toileting, brief changes, and showering.
• Administer medications.
• Respond promptly to residents’ needs while maintaining their privacy and dignity.
• Monitor resident activity and functional status.
• Respond promptly to resident pull cords and alerts.
