The caregiver role is vital for individuals who depend on assistance with their daily living activities. As a caregiver, you will provide compassionate and reliable support, helping clients maintain their independence and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Previous caregiving experience is preferred but not required; comprehensive paid training, including CPR, is provided
- Commitment to following health and safety standards
- Knowledge of housekeeping duties and meal preparation, with attention to dietary restrictions
- A respectful and compassionate attitude, with excellent bedside manner
- Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to perform required tasks effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
- Reliable transportation is essential
Responsibilities
- Remind clients to take their prescribed medications punctually
- Assist clients with mobility both inside the home and in outdoor environments
- Provide personal care and hygiene assistance with dignity and respect
- Support clients in completing recommended exercises to promote health
- Accompany clients on shopping trips or run errands on their behalf when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including meal preparation, that clients are unable to manage themselves
- Report any unusual occurrences or concerns promptly to office staff and family members
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergency situations
- Accurately document days and hours worked on agency care sheets
