About The Position

The Career Transition Specialist Supervisor reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exempt position. The Career Transition Specialist Supervisor is responsible for organizing, planning, administering, and supervising the CTS Program through cohort enrollment and case management efforts. The Career Transition Specialist Supervisor plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the Career Transition Readiness and Career Transition Services Programs, including ensuring proper planning, scheduling, and effective implementation of all activities in program areas. Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.

Requirements

  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field from a four-year college preferred.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree and expansive experience with disadvantaged youth preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing, planning, administering, and supervising the CTS Program through cohort enrollment and case management efforts.
  • Planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the Career Transition Readiness and Career Transition Services Programs, including ensuring proper planning, scheduling, and effective implementation of all activities in program areas.
  • Preparing and reviewing reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished and objectives attained.
  • Preparing and submitting reports as required.
  • Ensuring proper records of student progress are maintained by the CTR/Career Transition Department.
  • Setting monthly goals for placement and monitoring goals.
  • Enacting corrective action as needed to correct deficiencies.
  • Screening and monitoring placement information.
  • Auditing files to ensure data is captured for all possible placements.
  • Coordinating and participating in open houses, Job Fairs, Career Days, etc.
  • Assigning and monitoring staff and contract caseloads.
  • Ensuring proper placer assignments and processes transfers of assignees when relocating.
