About The Position

The Career Development Advisor supports students in achieving career readiness by providing career counseling, professional development guidance, and employment preparation services. This role assists students with career planning, resumes, interviews, internships, job searches, and networking while building relationships with employers, faculty, and alumni to expand career opportunities and enhance student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience in career counseling, academic advising, student services, recruiting, or higher education.
  • Knowledge of career development principles and student career advising.
  • Experience with internships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group career advising to students.
  • Assist with resume writing, cover letters, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
  • Guide students in career planning, networking, and salary negotiation.
  • Assess students' career development needs and provide personalized career guidance.
  • Develop and deliver career readiness workshops and presentations.
  • Promote career competencies and professional development programs.
  • Build relationships with employers, recruiters, alumni, and industry partners.
  • Identify internship, co-op, and full-time employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate and support internship and co-op programs.
  • Collaborate with faculty and academic departments on career initiatives.
  • Organize and support career fairs, employer events, job shadowing, and networking events.
  • Utilize career services platforms and CRM systems to manage student and employer engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records and support career services operations.
