About The Position

McLeod Home Care is a non-medical home care agency hiring experienced, caring, and compassionate Care Professionals. The agency provides care in Charleston, James Island, Sullivan's Island, North Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Hanahan, Summerville, Goose Creek, West Ashley, Isle of Palms, and Daniel Island. Starting pay is $18.25 per hour. After working more than 16 hours per week for four consecutive weeks, the hourly rate increases by $1. The agency offers full-time and part-time positions with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, Monday through Sunday. Day, night, and overnight shifts are available, with flexible scheduling. Care responsibilities vary by assignment and each client has a custom care plan.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Any state-mandated certification.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.
• At least 1 to 2+ years of adult personal care assistance experience.
• At least 1+ year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors.
• Valid South Carolina driver's license, current vehicle registration and insurance, and a clean driving record if transporting clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including dressing, bathing, and grooming.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Provide transportation and errand services.
• Monitor client conditions and update care notes.
• Provide dementia and Alzheimer's care and companion care.
• Conduct home safety inspections.
