Hybrid Care/Compounding Pharmacist

Mixlab•Los Angeles, CA
•$63 - $68•Hybrid

About The Position

Mixlab is hiring a Care/Compounding Pharmacist to support veterinarians and pet parents remotely while also compounding, verifying, and supervising work at a compounding lab. This hybrid role divides time between the Care team and an assigned lab, serving as a link between customer clinical questions and the lab’s capabilities. The approximate allocation is 40% Care and 60% lab, adjusted to business needs. The pharmacist works onsite at their home lab an average of three days per week, with remaining days remote. In-person days are scheduled in advance and may vary week to week; additional onsite coverage may be requested during peak volume, staff absences, or inspections. Rotating night, weekend, and holiday work is required. The role involves responding to veterinarians, veterinary practice staff, and clients; entering prescriptions and order information into Mixlab’s workflow system; counseling clients; and coordinating payments and deliveries. In the lab, the pharmacist performs and verifies nonsterile compounding, supervises technicians, checks compounded medications and prescription orders, and maintains quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Across both areas, the pharmacist coordinates with Care, lab, supply chain, and logistics teams; provides workflow and pharmacy guidance; and contributes clinical and compounding expertise to internal teams. The successful candidate holds an active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of their home lab (NY, FL, CA, WI, or TX), lives within commuting distance of one of the five lab locations, and can work onsite an average of three days weekly. They must be willing to obtain additional state licenses within six months as needed for Care coverage. Mixlab seeks someone with exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, adaptability, and a collaborative, resourceful, ownership-oriented approach who is comfortable working in a fast-paced startup and enjoys serving pets and their people.
