Care Associate - Assisted Living (AL)

About The Position

The Care Associate provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living Program with activities of daily living, helping them maintain quality of life, dignity, and independence. The role includes supporting residents’ personal care needs, providing emotional and social support, documenting assistance, and informing a supervisor of resident issues or concerns. The Care Associate is expected to respect residents’ confidentiality and work collaboratively with residents, supervisors, and coworkers.

Requirements

At least one year of experience working in senior care.
English proficiency sufficient to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors and other employees, and respond to and communicate during emergency situations.
Basic computer skills.
Compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic, and helpful demeanor.
Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high-stress situations.
Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

A CNA or CHHA license may be required depending on the state.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
Follow the schedule of residents’ needs set out by the supervisor.
Provide emotional and social support to residents.
Document a daily log of assistance.
Inform the supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
Respect and encourage residents’ independence and dignity.
Respect residents’ confidentiality.
