About The Position

The Care Associate provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living Program with activities of daily living, helping them lead a quality life while maintaining their dignity. The role includes providing support with medication reminders, personal care, escort service, and other daily needs; offering emotional and social support; documenting assistance; and communicating resident issues or concerns to a supervisor. The position is full-time, day shift, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Barrington of West Chester.

Requirements

At least one year of experience working in senior care.
Sufficient English proficiency to perform job duties, communicate with the supervisor and other employees, and respond to and communicate about emergency situations.
Basic computer skills.
Compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic, and helpful demeanor.
Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high-stress situations.
Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

Assist residents as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
Follow the schedule of resident needs established by the supervisor.
Provide emotional and social support to residents.
Document assistance in a daily log.
Inform the supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
Respect and encourage residents’ independence and dignity.
Respect residents’ confidentiality.
