About The Position

The Care Associate/PSS provides assistance to residents in the Assisted Living Program with activities of daily living, helping them maintain a quality life, dignity, and independence. The role also provides emotional and social support, documents assistance, and communicates resident issues or concerns to a supervisor.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience working in senior care.
• English proficiency sufficient to perform job duties, communicate with the supervisor and other employees, and respond to and communicate during emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic, and helpful demeanor.
• Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high-stress situations.
• Ability to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward residents and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of residents’ needs set out by the supervisor.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Document a daily log of assistance provided.
• Inform the supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
• Respect and encourage residents’ independence and dignity.
• Respect residents’ confidentiality.
