About The Position
The Care Assistant/CNA provides direct resident care in an assisted living setting and reports changes in residents’ conditions to an RN or LPN. The role includes documenting care in a POC system and managing and prioritizing tasks. The CNA helps ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and have choices in their lives. Benedictine is a nonprofit senior care organization founded by the Sisters of St. Scholastica. Its work is guided by the core values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect, and Justice, with a focus on creating a supportive culture for residents and team members.
Requirements
- Must have Illinois CNA certification.
- Must be in good standing on the State Nursing Assistant registry or appropriate entity.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care.
- Report changes in residents’ conditions to an RN or LPN.
- Chart in the POC system.
- Demonstrate time management and prioritize tasks.
- Treat residents with dignity and respect and support their choices.
