About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Cardiovascular Technologist (Echo Tech) in Lancaster, Ohio. The role is based in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting and involves performing diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures. The contract duration is 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The position offers guaranteed hours and a day shift.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Vascular/Echocardiography from an accredited program, or on-the-job training with an allied health associate degree.
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or ARDMS-registered cardiac sonographer (or registry eligible); CPR certification required.
  • One to two years of echocardiography experience is preferred, including 2-D echo with M-Mode, spectral/color Doppler, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography.
  • Knowledge of clinical interventions and equipment for the patient population served; strong interpersonal and communication abilities; competency in rhythm recognition.
  • Ability to work in a hospital/acute care setting, adhering to safety and privacy guidelines; proficient with EMR and cardiovascular data documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures, including 2-D echocardiography with M-Mode, spectral and color flow Doppler, stress echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography per order.
  • Conduct cardiovascular diagnostic tests appropriate to licensure, such as EKGs, event monitor applications, cardiac monitor applications, pulmonary function tests, lower-extremity Doppler studies, and stress testing.
  • Record procedure data in patient charts and EMR; promptly inform physicians of life-threatening test results.
  • Maintain and disinfect cardiovascular equipment and accessories; ensure proper cleaning and aseptic techniques.
  • Assist with supply inventory, clerical duties, patient transport, and routing inquiries to the appropriate staff; support cardiovascular team operations.
  • Participate in preparation and presentation of monthly cardiovascular meetings and CQI activities; supervise and instruct students; precept new employees.
  • Uphold patient rights and HIPAA requirements; protect patient privacy in all interactions and documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area; be prepared to perform CPR as needed; comply with department policies and Six Sigma quality initiatives as applicable.
