About The Position

The Surgical Tech functions as an integral team member across all phases of a surgical procedure. The role supports seamless transitions and comprehensive patient care by collaborating with the surgical team, preparing the operating room, assisting the surgeon, and managing instruments and supplies. The technician maintains a sterile field and anticipates team needs to promote efficiency and patient safety. Success in the role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure, teamwork, and commitment to sterile technique.

The position also involves using general patient care and communication equipment, unit-specific equipment, appropriate personal protective equipment, and safe patient handling devices. Effective verbal, written, and telephone communication and adaptability to changes in healthcare technology are required.

Requirements

• Graduation from a surgical technologist program through an approved school or the military, upon hire.
• Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
• Good telephone and communication skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changes in healthcare technology.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
• Teamwork and commitment to sterile technique.
