About The Position
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join its Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The position supports intraoperative nursing care by performing scrub and related duties according to standards and policies, helping ensure efficient operation of the surgery center, and assisting physicians and support staff. The role works with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to provide patient care.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, or equivalent training/scrub experience with an accredited institution.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with skills assessment or approved BLS, upon completion of unit orientation.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a surgical technologist or assistant.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, supplies and materials, patient-care equipment and supplies, policy and procedure manuals, audio-visual, video and microscopic equipment, computers, telecommunication equipment, and wall/ceiling and tanked medical gases.
- For some clinical areas, ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.
