Cardiovascular Surgery NP/PA
About The Position
Seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Cardiovascular Surgery for a Locum Tenens position in Jackson, MI. This inpatient role involves providing clinical coverage for vascular patients requiring neuro checks and post-cardiovascular surgery patients. The assignment is for supplemental coverage from August 2026 to January 2027, with a shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, including days, nights, and weekends. The APP will work autonomously, with intensivists available 24/7. A supervising physician will be present during the day shift and available by phone during the night shift. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center utilizing Epic EMR.
Requirements
- Active MI License
- BC (AANP or NCPA)
- BLS, ACLS (AHA)
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Acute Care trained and certified
Responsibilities
- Provide neuro checks for vascular patients.
- Manage post-cardiovascular surgery patients.
- Perform Thoracentesis.
- Perform placement of Central Venous & Dialysis Catheters.
- Perform placement of A-Lines & Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps.
- Perform Chest Tube Insertions.
- Assist with CV surgery consults on weekend shifts.
