About The Position
We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a Locum Tenens position in Greensboro, NC. This inpatient role involves clinical-only coverage from November 16, 2026, to March 08, 2027, with a focus on night shifts. The position requires assisting in cardiothoracic surgeries, managing a caseload of adult patients, and collaborating with a dedicated support team. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
Requirements
- State of NC License
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- DEA Required
- Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- 2 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting and first assist for cardiothoracic surgeries including CABG and robotic cases.
- Manage inpatient caseload of 5-8 CABGs and 4-6 robotic thoracic/chest cases per week.
- Assist with open and TAVR valve procedures as part of a comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical service.
- Collaborate with the advanced heart failure team to support occasional LVAD and Impella placements.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult cardiothoracic patients in conjunction with dedicated RN and PA support staff.
