About The Position

MedVet is a fast-growing emergency and specialty veterinary provider with practices nationwide. The Cardiology Veterinary Technician works in a department that collaborates with multiple specialties across the hospital and has opportunities to expand cardiology knowledge and skills. The role serves as a liaison between cardiologists and clients, supports client education and scheduling, and manages patient appointments. The technician helps provide high-quality patient care and contributes to a collaborative clinical team.

Requirements

Prior veterinary experience is required.
Proficiency in calculations, including drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions.
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
Cardiology experience desired.

Responsibilities

Assist with echocardiography, thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis, and interventional cardiology procedures.
Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, maintain medical records, handle invoicing and patient discharges, and organize daily service flow.
Place intravenous catheters and obtain blood pressures and ECGs.
Educate clients about cardiology disease processes.
Help ensure patients receive the highest quality care and deliver the MedVet experience to clients, patients, and teammates.
Teach, multitask, and contribute as a highly functional team member.
Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
