About The Position

MedVet is seeking a collaborative and driven Cardiology Veterinary Assistant to join its clinical team. The Cardiology department works with multiple specialties across the hospital and offers opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in advanced cardiology procedures. The assistant serves as a liaison between cardiologists and clients, supports client education and scheduling, and manages patient appointments. The role also includes a Nursing shift on Saturdays.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary experience is required.
• Proficiency in calculations, including drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Cardiology experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures, including echocardiography, thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis, and interventional cardiology procedures.
• Assist with appointments, obtain patient histories, maintain medical records, prepare invoices, and support patient discharges.
• Organize and manage daily service flow.
• Obtain blood pressure readings and ECGs.
• Educate clients about cardiology disease processes.
• Help ensure patients receive high-quality care and support the MedVet Experience.
• Inspire and teach, multitask, and contribute as a functional team member.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
