About The Position

This is a locum tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Cardiology. The role involves managing an inpatient caseload of approximately 12-15 cases per day. Support staff includes Registered Nurses (RNs) for discharge communication and additional hospital RN support as needed. The position requires experience with a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with coverage for Medicare and Medicaid patients. A clean background check is highly preferred, and local candidates are strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Board Certified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – either Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Active Illinois state license.
• Active licensure in Illinois is mandatory.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Recent experience in a Level I Trauma Center is required.
• Experience with various demographics, including a focus on adolescents, adults, geriatrics, Medicare, and Medicaid, is essential.

Nice To Haves

• Local candidates are strongly preferred.
• A clean and clear background is highly preferred.

Responsibilities
