Inpatient Transplant APP (NP/PA)
About The Position
Join the APP Transplant team at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center as an Inpatient Transplant Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA). The role provides expert care to patients undergoing kidney and liver transplants and HPB surgeries, working with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes. The position is based in an inpatient hospital setting and may include participation in outpatient clinics as needed. Requirements
- APRN or PA with a valid state license and certification.
- At least 1 year of experience in transplantation, nephrology, surgery, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of kidney and abdominal transplant procedures, postoperative management, and immunosuppressive therapy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Empathetic, patient-centered approach.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous learning.
Nice To Haves
- 3 years of experience in transplantation, nephrology, surgery, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized patient care, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Monitor postoperative recovery, manage pain, and identify complications.
- Prescribe and adjust immunosuppressant medications.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-transplant care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, and nurses.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to plan treatment.
- Engage in quality-improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness.
- Address patient concerns and ensure patients' voices are heard.
- Adhere to applicable regulations and institutional policies.
