About The Position

Essentia Health - Marilyn Covey Heart & Vascular Center in Brainerd, MN is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care across the continuum, including ambulatory cardiology, acute care cardiology, Heart Failure, and pre- and post-invasive cardiovascular care. This is a diverse practice opportunity for an APP who values clinical variety, collaborative care, and caring for patients across multiple cardiovascular settings. Clinical Practice: Ambulatory Cardiology: Evaluate and manage new and established cardiology patients; manage cardiovascular conditions, risk factors, medications, and diagnostic testing; provide longitudinal follow-up, education, and care coordination. Acute Care Cardiology: Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients with acute cardiovascular conditions. Collaborate with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary hospital care team. Heart Failure: Evaluate and manage patients with new and established heart failure; optimize guideline-directed medical therapy; monitor treatment response; provide timely post-discharge follow-up and multidisciplinary care coordination. Pre- and Post-Invasive Cardiovascular Care: In collaboration with the interventional cardiologists perform pre-procedure assessments and coordinate testing; provide patient education and post-procedure evaluation.

Requirements

  • NP or PA with cardiology, cardiovascular, acute care, or related clinical experience preferred.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in appropriate state.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • National certification in applicable area.
  • Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice
  • Current licensure as a physician assistant in appropriate state.
  • National certification.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals.
  • Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
