About The Position

This casual, non-union position provides nursing services for cardiac rehabilitation and related clinical exercise programs. The Cardiac Rehab RN reports to the Director of Wellness Services. The role includes patient assessment, treatment planning, education, and supervision of exercise sessions, as well as documentation, charging, medical-record processing, and reporting outcome measurements. The position may also assist with Pulmonary Rehab, CORE, and other clinical exercise programs.

Requirements

Current nursing license in the State of Ohio.
Cardiac Rehab or Cardiopulmonary experience.
Competence in telemetry monitoring and identification of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Member of AACVPR or willing to complete membership within one year of hire.

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop treatment plans.
Educate patients and supervise exercise sessions.
Document daily sessions, progress reports, and individualized treatments.
Assist with Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, CORE, and clinical exercise programs.
Attend the LaCross Cardiac Rehab Comprehensive Training Workshop after hire if there is no previous experience in exercise physiology techniques.
Master the AACVPR Core Competencies, including exercise physiology, nutrition, risk-factor modification, counseling techniques, and behavioral-change programs and technologies as applied to Cardiac Rehab and Secondary Prevention Services.
Ensure correct charging practices.
Compile and distribute documentation to health information systems for the permanent medical record.
Assist with compiling and reporting outcome measurements as required by current regulatory standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
