About The Position

The Accounts Payable Auditor is responsible for the review and submittal of invoices to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate Accounts Payable processing and prioritization. The Accounts Payable Auditor verifies accuracy of all invoices processed and plays a key role in ensuring vendor accounts are maintained in an effective, up to date, and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable experience, including electronic processing.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciles complex vendor statements, utilizes subject matter expertise to research and correct discrepancies.
  • Verifies transactions comply with standard operating procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with all internal processes and policies.
  • Sets up all new Vendors.
  • Educates stakeholders to ensure compliance with A/P processing standards.
  • Maintains EDI relationship with third party haulers and ensures coding and logic is accurate to improve automated processing.
  • Audits both auto pay and manual review invoices for accuracy.
  • Partners with department management to report audit and/or process improvements.
  • Maintains a filing system for all Accounts Payable documents.
  • Produces and distributes reports for management and customers as required.
  • Maintains a daily log of invoices reviewed and audited.
  • Ensures invoices are posted in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a positive customer service experience in all interactions with operations, procurement, and all other internal departments.
  • Performs and manages special projects and analysis.
  • Works with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance of established controls.
  • Works closely with municipalities to maintain a detailed data base of nationwide regulations.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned or apparent.
