About The Position

The Capacity Optimization Project Manager is an operations-focused point of contact supporting global warehouse deployment volumes, with a regional focus on the East or West. The role is highly fluid and travel-heavy, involving continuous travel of up to 50% across the assigned territory to support changing site capacity needs and on-site facility launches. The position helps manage and execute warehouse turn-ups, facility turndowns, 3PL swaps, and building transfers through centralized tracking, project-management tools, and site-audit support. It guides 3PL partners toward standardized execution without directing labor planning or finance. The role supports project execution by tracking milestones and tasks, resolving administrative and system-workflow blockers, and providing automated status updates and executive summaries. It surfaces operational risks, maintains trackers and workflow resources, manages location-code setup, and delivers regional capacity reports to leadership. In partnership with East and West teams and cross-functional stakeholders, it refines the turn-up playbook, consolidates processes, evaluates timeline feasibility, and coordinates communications and ownership with 3PL partners and internal operations teams.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in logistics, large-scale warehouse operations, distribution center turn-ups, or 3PL management.
  • Strong working knowledge of project-management platforms, specifically Google Sheets.
  • Experience with automated reporting engines, API integrations, and workflow ticketing systems such as Fluxx.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly fluid and ambiguous environment and rapidly shift priorities to meet organizational expansion requirements.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and external partners and escalate issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day business operations during site turn-ups, resolving roadblocks and guiding 3PL execution without directing labor planning or finance.
  • Facilitate complex turn-up projects using a centralized project-management platform and playbook; track L1/L2 milestones and completion of project tasks.
  • Investigate, route, and resolve administrative tasks and system bugs, including Fluxx workflow issues, to keep operational workflows unblocked.
  • Generate automated status updates and executive summaries using API-connected reporting engines, including regional risk roll-ups.
  • Identify trends across start-ups and proactively escalate risks and potential issues.
  • Surface operational risks and upstream blockers during new facility implementations.
  • Maintain project trackers, repair broken work-instruction links, clear legacy workflow items, and correct misrouted bug queues.
  • Manage location-code setups, including sourcing and facility locations, and resolve related logistics and workflow requirements.
  • Use capacity-management dashboards to provide actionable regional roll-ups and snapshot reports to leadership.
  • Escalate current and potential problems clearly and promptly, using strong verbal and written communication.
  • Administer and continuously refine the turn-up playbook in the project-management platform, using change-management features to implement universal task updates.
  • Consolidate scattered processes into a single source of truth and accurately map new technology and logistics functions as workflow predecessors.
  • Assess timeline feasibility by calculating backward and forward from estimated site availability dates.
  • Represent internal operations teams in 3PL engagements and define roles, ownership, and LDAP assignments during project initiations.
  • Manage day-to-day 3PL communications, build trust with LOMs, and ensure critical issues are not siloed or missed.
  • Provide clear, data-driven updates to Google contacts and bridge communication between turn-up teams.
