Candy Maker- Midnight shift 10p-7a
About The Position
Second Nature Brands is hiring a Candy Maker to support its supply chain team as the company grows. The role assists in making confections by repeatedly transferring caramel blocks onto a conveyor and monitoring an extruder to produce caramel squares. The position is based at Sanders Chocolate Factory, 23770 Hall Road, Clinton Township, MI 48036. Regular hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, plus a $1.00 shift premium. This is a full-time position with a benefits package that includes paid time off, an employee discount, medical, dental, disability, and life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous manufacturing experience is required.
- Read and write English proficiently.
- Be self-directed.
- Work well with peers and supervisors.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Work in a fast-paced environment to keep production lines running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Repeatedly transfer cooled caramel tubs weighing approximately 50 pounds to the production line.
- Clean and sanitize candy-making equipment.
- Start and continue the production line according to established guidelines.
- Perform quality control checks on caramel squares for weight and uniformity.
- Follow GMP, Q&FS, and OSHA safety policies.
- Track inventory using an ERP system.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
