About The Position
The Nurse Assistant works under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) to support patient safety, comfort, and well-being in the Surg-Med ICU at Macomb Hospital. The role provides essential patient care, assists with care planning and implementation, and responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. The position is full-time, scheduled for 36 hours per week in three 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required. The shift is listed as 6:30 pm–7:00 am.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Meet at least one of the following qualifications: completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician); current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; foreign-trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license; completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; or at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
