The University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Federal Work Study Program have openings to the UVA Cancer Center Undergraduate Scholars Program. If selected into the program, the student will work in one of the School of Medicine’s Shared Resource cores under the mentorship of the director. In addition to working in the core, they will be expected to attend 3 lectures on cancer research and 2 cancer research seminars each semester. Successful completion of the program at the end of the school year may allow those students the opportunity to work full time in the core over the summer. We seek work-study eligible students to work in the following Core units: Advanced Microscopy Facility, Biorepository and Tissue Research Facility, Biomolecular Analysis Facility, Flow Cytometry Core Facility, Genome Analysis and Technology Core, Molecular Imaging Core, Molecular Immunologic & Translational Sciences Core.
