About The Position

This position is for a student hourly role at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS), focusing on maintaining the Jazz Library and supporting the UWS Jazz Band and Jazz Combo. The role involves sorting, re-shelving, cataloging, and maintaining music, as well as assisting the jazz director with various tasks related to rehearsals, concerts, and festivals.

Nice To Haves

• Music Majors or Music Minors are preferred.
• Participation in the UWS Jazz Band is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Sort and re-shelve music used by the UWS Jazz Band.
• Clean and maintain the jazz library facility.
• Stamp and catalog new music before filing.
• Assist the jazz director with preparing parts/scores for the UWS Jazz Band/Jazz Combo.
• Maintain records of parts/folders distributed.
• Assist in set-up and tear down for weekly rehearsals and concerts.
• Assist with the Honor Jazz Band Festival, including music preparation.
• Assist supervisor with other assigned tasks.
