About The Position

Joffe Emergency Services is seeking a professional and dependable part-time Campus Safety Officer to support a school campus in the Palos Verdes, California area. The position is expected to begin in mid-November 2026 and follows a Monday–Friday schedule. Shift times are still being finalized. Occasional weekend availability or extended hours may be required to support school rentals and events. Campus Safety Officers are trusted members of the school community who help foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment for students, staff, and families. The role involves maintaining campus safety, responding to incidents, supporting school policies, conducting patrols and inspections, assisting with traffic and visitor access, documenting security activity, and supporting school administration. Officers also help with investigations and facility security while building positive relationships with the school community and local law enforcement.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Active Guard Card required.
Active CPR certificate required.
Customer service experience required.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and in dynamic environments.
Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
Must be able to read and write English fluently.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to perform routine patrols across campus grounds.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 6 months of security experience preferred.
Experience working with children or students preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout campus.
Respond to campus incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.
Monitor student behavior and help enforce school policies and procedures.
Conduct routine patrols and safety inspections of campus grounds and facilities.
Assist with traffic flow, parking, and visitor access.
Write detailed incident reports and document security-related activity.
Support school administration with safety and security needs as requested.
Assist with campus investigations, including reviewing camera footage and gathering information.
Help ensure campus buildings and facilities are properly secured.
Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and local law enforcement.
