About The Position

Joffe Emergency Services is seeking a professional and dependable part-time Campus Safety Officer to support a school campus in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California. The officer helps create a welcoming, safe, and supportive campus environment for students, staff, and visitors, serving as a trusted and approachable member of the school community. The schedule is 5:30 AM–2:00 PM, two days per week between Monday and Thursday, for 8–24 hours per week. More hours may become available as needs arise. Some weekends or longer shift days may be required when the school has rentals or events. The role involves maintaining campus safety, responding to incidents and emergencies, monitoring student behavior, conducting patrols and inspections, supporting traffic and visitor access, documenting security activity, and assisting school administration and investigations. Officers build positive relationships with students, school personnel, families, and local law enforcement. Uniforms and training are provided. Pay is competitive and based on experience and training.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Active Guard Card required.
Active CPR certificate required.
Customer service experience required.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and in dynamic environments.
Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
Must be able to read and write English fluently.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to perform routine patrols across campus grounds.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 6 months of security experience preferred.
Experience working with children or students preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout campus.
Respond to campus incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.
Monitor student behavior and help enforce school policies and procedures.
Conduct routine patrols and safety inspections of campus grounds and facilities.
Assist with traffic flow, parking, and visitor access.
Write detailed incident reports and document security-related activity.
Support school administration with safety and security needs as requested.
Assist with campus investigations, including reviewing camera footage and gathering information.
Help ensure campus buildings and facilities are properly secured.
Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and local law enforcement.
