About The Position

The Dining Room Manager actively manages dining room operations, including staffing, accountability, and sanitation in accordance with applicable health department regulations. The role also helps maintain a positive physical and social environment for residents. The manager supervises dining services employees, manages staff schedules and attendance, and performs hosting and serving duties as needed. Requirements

• Relevant work experience; 2 or more years preferred.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with elderly people.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and the general public.
• Formal training in food service management or culinary arts, or equivalent experience in either field.
• Ability to supervise dining services employees using independent judgment and discretion.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass a criminal background check.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage dining room operations, including staffing, accountability, and sanitation in accordance with health department regulations.
• Help maintain a positive physical and social environment for residents.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and orderly.
• Follow procedures for infection control, food-borne illness prevention, harmful chemical handling, fire safety, and sanitation; promptly address violations.
• Schedule and reschedule staff, using independent judgment when creating schedules and deciding on requests for time off or other work-schedule changes.
• Track attendance and inform the Director of Dining Services when disciplinary action may be appropriate.
• Perform hosting and serving duties as needed.
