About The Position

The Camp Program Coordinator leads daily camp culture and organizes activities, schedules, and events to create an intentional experience that balances safety with fun. The role is suited to high-energy, detail-oriented leaders with strong problem-solving skills and youth recreation experience who are comfortable leading campers in front of groups and working behind the scenes. The camp session runs March 14–20, 2027, with staff living on-site. Paid staff training takes place March 5–7. The role may be based at Lake Travis, serving campers ages 12–15, or Zilker Lodge, serving campers ages 8–11. The position includes direct camper engagement and leadership of program operations, staff, and safety practices.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Must have a GED or high school diploma.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
At least 2 years of experience with camp, youth development, and/or outdoor programs.
Ability to pass a national criminal background check.
Management experience.

Responsibilities

Design and execute daily schedules, activity tracks, choice activities, and evening events.
Manage activity supplies and assist partner organizations hosting programming.
Lead morning and evening camp assemblies and facilitate safety orientations.
Manage site-wide schedule transitions using radio communications.
Observe counselors, ensure camper-to-staff ratios and skills verifications are met, delegate tasks, and provide real-time coaching.
Maintain a high level of direct camper engagement, lead activities as needed, and foster a compassionate, inclusive camp culture.
Complete incident and behavior reports.
Assist with photo management and parent communications.
Track program expenses.
Enforce Health Department and ACA standards.
