About The Position

The Cafe Team Member prepares and serves food as instructed by the Cafeteria Manager and helps maintain a clean, welcoming cafeteria where students receive nutritious and appealing meals. The role includes cleaning cafeteria areas, operating standard commercial kitchen equipment, assisting with stock handling, and meeting applicable health and food-safety standards. The position is assigned to locations as needed. The MSD of Martinsville is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or move 30 to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and go up and down stairs for two to three hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food as instructed by the Cafeteria Manager.
• Perform cleanup duties, including washing tables, mopping, sweeping, dish room duties, and restroom detail.
• Operate standard commercial kitchen equipment.
• Assist with receiving and rotating perishable and non-perishable stock.
• Meet or exceed local, state, federal health, and USDA regulations.
• Meet employee dress-code standards.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• May operate POS computers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager.
