About The Position

The Cafeteria Cook prepares food for the Clearwater Café, which serves employees at Bass Pro Shops Corporate Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri. The role includes preparing ingredients for recipes and the salad bar, preparing breakfast and lunch items, and serving customers during the lunch meal period. The cook works across kitchen stations including the grill, deli sandwich counter, pizza/pasta station, and salad area, while following food safety principles and regulations. Flexibility, multitasking, and excellent customer service are important to the position.

The role is performed under direct supervision using established policies and procedures, and work is reviewed by a supervisor. There is limited opportunity for independent judgment and decision-making.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of cooking experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of, or ability to learn, workplace sanitation and safety regulations.
• Basic understanding of, or ability to learn, food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and under pressure.
• Ability to maintain personal cleanliness.
• Ability to walk, stand, and lift regularly; lift up to 25 pounds; squat, bend, and remain on your feet for extended periods.

• Cooking experience in a restaurant or cafeteria setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook various items according to the weekly menu.
• Clean, cut, and prepare fruits and vegetables for recipes and the salad bar.
• Complete tasks on the daily prep list and follow the Chef’s instructions.
• Apportion and serve food safely to employees and guests.
• Routinely clean and inspect equipment and work areas to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Comply with FDA and local food safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
