About The Position
Miss Lucille’s Cafe is seeking an energetic, guest-focused Barista to prepare coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, serve guests, and support café operations. The role includes working behind the counter and in the dining room, learning the cafe’s coffee blends, menu items, and brewing methods, and helping create memorable guest experiences. The schedule is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with early-morning and daytime shifts beginning as early as 5:30 a.m. and continuing until close. Saturday and Sunday availability and holiday availability are required, except Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Special-event availability may also be needed. Pay is $9–$10 per hour plus tips. The position is guest-facing and has appearance standards: unnatural hair colors such as pink, blue, or bright/unusual reds are not permitted; one nostril piercing is allowed, while other facial piercings must be removed or replaced with a clear retainer during work; gauged ears must be filled and may not exceed 19mm; and face and neck tattoos must not be visible while working. Requests for religious, medical, disability-related, or other legally protected accommodations will be reviewed individually.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Have a warm, positive personality and genuine interest in hospitality.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Be able to multitask while maintaining accuracy and friendly service.
- Have an interest in learning about coffee, food preparation, and café operations.
- Be dependable and have a team-first attitude.
- Be available for early mornings, weekends, and required holidays.
- Previous barista, restaurant, or guest-service experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
