About The Position

The Cafe Attendant works at Masonicare at Ashlar Village in Wallingford, Connecticut. The role involves reporting to work on time in proper uniform, completing pre-meal assignments, serving customers according to training standards, and completing post-meal assignments while maintaining proper sanitation. The attendant is expected to provide good customer service and attend all mandatory education programs. The schedule is day and evening shifts, 20 hours per week, including every other weekend.

Requirements

Good customer service skills.
Ability to follow training standards and service instructions.
Ability to follow safe food handling, hand-washing, sanitation, cash-handling, and credit-card procedures.
Ability to maintain the required uniform and report to work on time.

Responsibilities

Follow the posted work schedule and proper procedures for requesting days off or calling out, and report to work on time.
Follow time-clock procedures to accurately record hours worked.
Arrive in a clean, professional uniform that is laundered and maintained by the employee.
Complete pre-meal side work and setup assignments thoroughly and within the scheduled time, as checked by a supervisor.
Check assigned service tables for accuracy, cleanliness, and appearance.
Participate in a menu meeting before each service to learn menu items and service instructions.
Assist patrons promptly and efficiently, identifying and addressing their needs using the provided training.
Treat customers and coworkers courteously and respectfully; handle customer issues professionally and use available options to satisfy customers.
Clear tables promptly, efficiently, and unobtrusively according to training standards.
Follow supervisor directions for cash handling and credit card procedures.
Complete post-meal side-work assignments thoroughly and within the scheduled time, as checked by a supervisor.
Attend and complete all mandatory in-services, obligations, and meetings.
Follow safe food handling and hand-washing procedures and properly sanitize trays, work areas, and equipment used.
