About The Position

The Café & Bake Shop Barista works in a fast-paced, high-energy shop serving bakery items and handcrafted espresso-based beverages with a friendly, guest-focused approach. The role involves helping guests choose from fresh breads, pastries, and other treats, packaging their selections, preparing drinks, and supporting day-to-day shop operations. The position may also support other Castle Shop locations as needed. Seasonal position with 15–40 hours per week. Wage: $15 per hour. Example shifts include 8 a.m.–4 p.m., 11 a.m.–7 p.m., 12 p.m.–9 p.m., and 3 p.m.–close.

Nice To Haves

Barista, retail, or food service experience is helpful; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Create a warm, guest-first experience with every interaction.
Guide guests through the bakery case, suggest favorites, and help them discover new items.
Retrieve bakery items from the case and package them neatly and efficiently.
Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages.
Operate the register and complete transactions accurately.
Keep the bakery case stocked, rotated, and visually appealing.
Restock products, supplies, and merchandise throughout the shift.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace, including counters, equipment, and displays.
Follow food safety and freshness standards.
Support other Castle Shop locations as needed.
