About The Position

The CAE Engineer conducts structural and sealing analyses for a wide variety of propulsion components, including electrified propulsion hardware, engines, and transmissions. The role retrieves and modifies CAD models of components and assemblies to create finite element models, develops analytical data to guide designs in meeting product requirements, and documents analysis objectives, assumptions, conclusions, and results. The engineer collaborates with Design Responsible Engineers to troubleshoot design challenges and advance product designs, and works with test engineers to improve laboratory procedures supporting development of first-time-capable analysis techniques. The position follows a hybrid work policy requiring three days in the office and two days remotely, with the ability to report to a local office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Five years of experience in a related occupation.
  • Five years of experience with structural engineering materials, large-scale nonlinear problems, optimization, topology, reliability, robust design, and process automation.
  • Five years of experience with model creation and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Five years of experience with structural analysis of propulsion components and systems.
  • Five years of experience with composite structure durability analysis.
  • Five years of experience with ABAQUS, including Implicit, Explicit, and ABAQUS CAE.
  • Five years of experience with OptiStruct, HyperMesh, and iSIGHT.
  • Five years of experience with Fe-safe, FEMFAT, Mold Flow, and DIGIMAT.
  • Five years of experience with nonlinear analysis, failure theories, multiaxial fatigue, and composites.
  • Five years of experience with principles of vehicle propulsion system design, operation, and testing.
  • Five years of programming experience in Java, Python, and MATLAB.
  • Must be able to report to a local office.
