About The Position

Conduct durability CAE to support 8F transmissions. Analyses may cover stress, deflection, temperature, fatigue, and fracture mechanics, using linear or nonlinear models with numerous contacts, under quasistatic or transient conditions. Investigate optimization and TVM opportunities, interpret results, draw reasonable conclusions, and document results and methods clearly. Plan hardware testing to correlate finite element models. Work with engineers, designers, technicians, suppliers, management, engineering teams, test laboratories, metallurgy, metrology, and Six Sigma teams to analyze data and establish trends. Research software and methods to determine best practices for analysis.

Requirements

• Master of Science in mechanical engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of analytical methods in durability CAE.
• Strong knowledge of fracture mechanics theory and practice.
• Proficiency with Hypermesh, Simlab, Abaqus, FEMFAT, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of optimization.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of conventional, hybrid, or battery-electric powertrains.
• Six Sigma skills; a Six Sigma Black Belt is beneficial.
• CAD skills.
