CAD Designer, Texas Institute for Electronics
About The Position
The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Designer will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, making modifications to existing drawings, modeling basic parts, and maintaining CAD files and related documentation. Join the Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) and help us push the boundaries in critical semiconductor domains, including advanced packaging, with the aim of reestablishing U.S. prominence in semiconductor manufacturing. With over $1 billion in funding from the US DoD and the state of Texas, we’re at the forefront of creating cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes that will set the course for future advancements in semiconductor logic, memory, heterogeneous integration, chip cooling and more.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in CAD design, drafting, or related fields.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ISO drafting standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Additional certifications in CAD software or design principles
- Experience in the semiconductor industry
- Proficiency in Creo
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software
- Experience with fabricated part procurement and vendor discussions
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed technical drawings and 3D models with precision and accuracy.
- Update and revise existing drawings to reflect changes and modifications.
- Maintain organized CAD files and documentation for ongoing projects.
- Oversee document control for released drawings and Bill of Materials.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret design concepts.
- Other related functions as assigned.
