About The Position

The C-Store Cashier provides customer service and supports the daily operation of the store. The role includes greeting customers, helping create a positive shopping experience, completing accurate point-of-sale transactions, and maintaining the store and gas-pump areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, communicates effectively, works well with a team, and stays composed in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis, is required. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks at once.

• Ability to maintain composure during times of uncertainty.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret English documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and communicate verbally in English; written English communication may also be required.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis.
• Jurisdiction-required work cards must be provided before the start date.
• Valid Health Card.
• Valid Alcohol Awareness Card.
• Ability to stand for long periods and to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to stand, stoop, lift, wipe, reach, and type without assistance from others.

Nice To Haves

• Previous point-of-sale experience.
• Previous retail sales, gas station attendant, or customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and greet all customers.
• Maintain the store’s appearance, keeping it clean, neat, and organized.
• Complete accurate point-of-sale customer transactions.
• Stock and clean the store.
• Maintain the cleanliness and management of the gas pumps and the outside appearance of the store.
• Support team members and promote a positive team environment.
