About The Position

SAIC is hiring a C++ Software Developer to join its Precision Fires team supporting the Aviation and Missile Center at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. This is an onsite role focused on designing and developing embedded software for military systems. The developer will work across the full software-program lifecycle, supporting both new and legacy embedded systems in a team environment with well-defined goals. The role offers direct work with the customer and collaboration with Cyber, Safety, Operations, and Test organizations to deliver software that meets immediate needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience; an additional six years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree, per contract vehicle.
Active Secret security clearance.
U.S. citizenship.
Experience with C/C++ and other object-oriented languages.
Agile development experience, specifically Scrum.
Experience with continuous integration and automation.
Object-oriented programming and design experience, including writing unit tests.
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
Experience with Git and SVN.
Experience with Linux.
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.

Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded software for military systems.
Perform software development activities throughout the full program lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, testing, documentation, and support.
Participate in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
Collaborate with Cyber, Safety, Operations, and Test organizations to deliver high-quality working software.
Work directly with the customer to receive feedback on software implementation and deliver software that meets immediate needs.
Support both new and legacy embedded systems as part of a team with well-defined goals.
