About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Software Testing Engineer to support the Precision Fires team and the Aviation and Missile Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The position is onsite at Redstone Arsenal. The engineer supports software and IT systems testing, including planning, test execution, verification, results analysis, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree and two years of practical experience, or six years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams in organizationally complex environments.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with significant experience leading concurrent mission operations.
• Working knowledge of test range planning and coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
• Experience using version control software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing test plans, test schedules, and testing approaches for all testing environments.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Test software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and identify defects.
• Support verification of work products using defined methods, procedures, and criteria in an appropriate verification environment.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Document complex problems, work to resolve them, and report progress on resolution to management.
