About The Position

This full-time Butler/Household Manager role supports a single principal in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and involves overseeing daily household operations, coordinating with assistants, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and readiness. The position includes vendor management, light housekeeping, wardrobe care, culinary preparation, pet care for four dogs, and travel-related support including packing and occasional travel with the principal. Candidates should have prior private service experience—ideally in a butler or household manager capacity—and demonstrate strong organizational skills, discretion, and a service-oriented mindset. Flexibility is essential, with a typical 10 to 12-hour weekday schedule, occasional weekend availability, and overnight presence when the principal is away. This is a foundational hire with potential for leadership as the household expands. Only candidates legally authorized to work in the U.S. will be considered.

Requirements

  • Tasteful purchasing and gift selection with minimal direction.
  • Ability to manage household inventory (art, wine, supplies) and implement tracking systems.
  • Flexible scheduling and willingness to travel or stay overnight as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort running errands.
  • Willingness to oversee and maintain multiple vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall order, cleanliness, and readiness of the residence.
  • Oversee weekly cleaning service and perform daily housekeeping tasks (e.g., tidying, laundry, bed-making, pet-related cleaning).
  • Manage household inventory, including art, wine, wardrobe, and supplies.
  • Coordinate and supervise vendors (e.g., pool service, landscaping, car detailing, aircraft maintenance).
  • Assist with planning and execution of a future household move (within six months).
  • Assist with oversight for a second nearby residence owned by the principal’s parents.
  • Provide daily care for four dogs (two belonging to the principal, two to his partner).
  • Ensure dogs are exercised, groomed, and kept healthy.
  • Maintain cleanliness in a pet-active indoor/outdoor environment.
  • Provide overnight care for pets when the principal is away.
  • Prepare and pack luggage for frequent business travel (approx. 1/3 of the year).
  • Coordinate with the executive assistant to anticipate travel needs and ensure seamless transitions.
  • Occasionally accompany principal on travel (domestic and private aviation).
  • Maintain readiness of home for principal’s return (e.g., meals, wardrobe, environment).
  • Prepare healthy, simple meals aligned with the principal's dietary routine.
  • Elevate basic meal prep with culinary skill and presentation.
  • Stock kitchen and manage grocery shopping.
  • Prepare home for weekend hosting (food, drinks, ambiance).
  • Run errands including dry cleaning, shopping, deliveries, and gift purchasing.
  • Source tasteful gifts and home items with minimal direction.
  • Maintain high standards of taste and discretion in all purchases.
  • Manage wardrobe inventory, including suits and seasonal items.
  • Handle laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organization.
  • Pack and unpack for travel.
  • Maintain a five-star hotel standard in personal spaces (e.g., towels, toiletries, presentation).
  • Coordinate closely with the principal's executive and personal assistants.
  • Anticipate needs and proactively manage household calendar.
  • Provide flexible, on-call support with a typical 12-hour weekday presence.
  • Ensure weekend household readiness and occasional weekend availability.
  • Serve as the foundational hire for a growing estate team.
  • Identify future staffing needs and assist in hiring and onboarding.
  • Develop systems and manuals for household operations.
  • Act as a trusted partner in shaping the estate’s service culture.
