About The Position
At Bupa Northhaven Care Home on the Whangaparāoa Peninsula in Red Beach, the Household Assistant is part of the Household team and helps create a clean and healthy environment where residents can thrive. The role provides efficient, hygienic cleaning and laundry services to a high standard. It is permanent, full-time employment averaging 32 hours per week, with a 0600–1430 shift and a fixed 4-days-on, 2-days-off rotating roster across Monday to Sunday over six weeks.
Requirements
- Previous housekeeping experience in a similar environment is preferable.
- Take pride in providing high-quality household services that help residents live comfortably and safely.
- Ability to work well independently and with a team to support a smooth workflow.
- Enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in residents’ lives, with good communication skills.
- Flexible availability for shifts throughout the week, including weekends and evenings.
- Reliable transport or travel arrangements.
- Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities
- Complete daily cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule, keeping residents’ rooms, public areas, and laundry in order.
- Provide efficient and hygienic cleaning and laundry services to a high standard.
- Take care of residents’ personal clothing and return it to its owners.
- Operate laundry equipment as specified.
- Report faults, issues, and supply replacement needs to the manager.
- Manage supplies economically and avoid waste.
- Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures, including safe chemical use and storage.
- Treat residents with respect and dignity.
