Seasonal Busser - PT Hours
About The Position
The Busser maintains dining room setup and supports food and beverage service to meet Neiman Marcus’s service standards. The role includes maintaining tables, dining and beverage areas, assisting kitchen and service staff, and keeping the restaurant and workstation clean. Associates must maintain appropriate hygiene and arrive prepared with the supplies and equipment needed for their duties. The position requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds. A flexible schedule based on business needs is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table service guidelines.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Motivated and results-driven.
- Knowledge of proper placement of china, glassware, and flatware for table settings.
- Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverages as indicated by kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
- Thorough knowledge of food, preparation, and culinary terminology.
- Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative “win together” mentality.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Clear and reset dining room tables.
- Deliver popovers and butter, pour water, and deliver food and beverages to guests according to kitchen tickets.
- Maintain the bus station and beverage areas.
- Learn dining area table numbers and sections.
- Assist kitchen and service staff with service needs, customer requests, restocking plates, bagging takeout orders, and setting up the expediter station.
- Assist waitstaff by refilling beverages and running food from the kitchen to the dining room.
- Set up the dining room with items including coffee, iced tea, and ice.
- Restock glasses, flatware, and linens in the dining room.
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
- Complete pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Lift and move objects such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
- Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
- Maintain hygiene standards, including clean and pressed clothing and professionally maintained hair and nails to avoid food contamination.
- Report to the work area appropriately dressed and prepared with necessary supplies and equipment.
