About The Position

The Busser maintains dining-room setup and supports food and beverage service consistent with Neiman Marcus standards. The role focuses on table maintenance, clearing and resetting tables, delivering food and beverages, maintaining service stations, assisting guests and service staff, and keeping the restaurant clean and properly stocked. The position requires maintaining high hygiene and grooming standards and arriving dressed and equipped to perform assigned duties.

Requirements

• Experience serving food and beverages and following proper table-service guidelines.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Motivated and results-driven.
• Knowledge of proper placement of china, glassware, and flatware for table settings.
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and placement of table settings, food, and beverages according to kitchen tickets and the guidebook.
• Thorough knowledge of food, preparation, and culinary terminology.
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously.
• Exceptional customer-service and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative “win together” mentality.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clear and reset dining-room tables.
• Deliver popovers and butter, pour water, and deliver food and beverages according to kitchen tickets.
• Maintain bus stations and beverage areas.
• Learn dining-area table numbers and sections.
• Assist kitchen and service staff with requests, plate restocking, takeout orders, and expediter-station setup.
• Support waitstaff by refilling beverages and running food from the kitchen to the dining room.
• Set up dining-room items such as coffee, iced tea, and ice.
• Restock glasses, flatware, and linens.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
• Complete pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly duties assigned by a supervisor.
• Lift and move items such as tables, chairs, and highchairs.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant and workstation.
• Maintain hygiene and grooming standards, including clean attire and hair and nails kept to avoid food-contamination risks.
• Report to the work area appropriately dressed and prepared with necessary supplies and equipment.
