About The Position

The Busser assists the Outlet Manager and Restaurant Servers in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment and providing guests with excellent service. The role includes clearing and resetting tables, maintaining service stations, serving beverages, bread, and butter, and transporting used tableware to the dishwashing area. This is a part-time position at The Laura Hotel in Downtown Houston.

Requirements

Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise transport up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart or truck weighing up to 150 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare tables for resetting.
Promptly and consistently reset service ware.
Maintain the stock and cleanliness of stations during all meal periods, including necessary equipment such as silverware, linen, and condiments.
Serve guests beverages, bread, and butter at the start of their dining experience and replenish items as necessary.
Transport dirty tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
Follow attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
